Children's Workers Job Descriptions and
Expectations
All Team Members
1. All team members will fill out a child safety agreement and
background check release form.
(this is required for all those who work with minors at LFBC)
2. We believe that Ministry to Children is extremely important. We are
looking for a strong commitment from June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010.
(We understand that there are circumstances that are out of our
control. We can work through these)
3. All team members will participate in a summer training event, and
will meet together at least once a month led by the Children's
Director. Participation in these events is extremely important.
Teachers
1. Teachers will be assigned a specific group of children for ministry
which will include teaching a lesson each Sunday, praying specifically
for each child, and keeping in contact with them through the year.
2. Teachers will help the Division Director reach out to visitors and
new prospects that relate to their class.
3. Teachers must be committed to the four "P's" Be Punctual, Be
Prayerful, Be Positive and Be Prepared. (training will be offered to
help in each of these areas)
4. When a Teacher must be absent please contact the Division Director
as soon as possible so arrangements can be made for your class.
5. The Teaching segment of Sunday Morning is 45 minutes the teacher
will serve as the direct leader for this time frame. The teacher will
serve as an assistant to the Large Group Leader for the other 45 minute
segment. Alternate weeks teacher will lead combined groups in the
opening "warm up" activity and Bible lesson. Every week teacher will
lead their own age group with discussion and application (classroom)
activities.
Large Group Leaders
1. The Large Group Leader will use the TEAMKid material to organize and
lead a 45 minute segment at the end of the Sunday School period; games,
crafts, missions, snacks, and review.
2. The Large Group Leader will work with the Worship Leader toward a
seamless dismissal of the Children in the worship service so they can
participate in the Large Group.
Helpers
1. Helpers serve in an assistant roll and are plugged into numerous
ministry needs during the Sunday School period at the discretion of the
Division Leader.
2. Helpers are not expected to have much preparation unless directed by
the Division Director.
3. Helpers may commit for lesser time periods (three months or once a
month etc...)
