AWANA

What is AWANA?

Awana is a Bible-based club for boys and girls ages 3 (by Sept. 1) to grade 6.

All of the clubs consist of 3 parts: game time, Bible lesson, and Handbook time.

Game time-games are played in the Fellowship Hall with the game director on the game circle. There are four teams-green, yellow, blue and red. This is a great way for the kids to learn respect, discipline, good sportsmanship, fair play, etc. all while having a great time.

Bible lesson-All levels of club have some form of lesson that is based on a Bible verse or story. At every level the verse is applied to every day life also.

Handbook Time-At all levels memory work is done. Children do not have to be able to read to participate. By the time children leave us in 6th grade they will have memorized 400 verses. We stress not just memorizing but putting meaning to the verses also.

Club levels:
Cubbies-Boys and Girls who are 3 or 4 by Sept. 1 may participate. Children learn verses together throughout the year so all children with regular attendance will finish their handbook.
Sparks-Boys and Girls in 5 year old kindergarten through 2nd grade
Truth & Training Clubs-3rd through 6th grade boys and girls

At all levels children are required to wear a uniform. (No child will be denied due to financial need.) Children at all levels are rewarded during the year with seals, patches, or jewels to wear on their uniform. Also at the 3rd-6th grade level, children receive Awana bucks as an incentive to spend at the Awana store. At the end of the year children who have finished their handbooks will receive a ribbon or trophy at our awards ceremony. At all levels starting with Sparks, each week there is a team reward for high score. Points are received for games and memory work with memory work being the most substantial.

Special Events: At all levels special events are planned throughout the year.

CHILDREN MAY JOIN AWANA AT ANY TIME!
